Item Description
- ER5356, commonly referred to as “AlMg5,” is a 5% magnesium aluminum wire used for welding base metals 5050, 5052, 5083, 5356, 5454 and 5457
- This MIG wire has become the most widely used aluminum welding wire because of its compatibility with so many different base metals and better corrosion resistance in salt water
- Weld deposits have good ductility and higher tensile strength although it is not suitable for temperatures sustained above 150°F (65°C)
- Melting range is 1060°F – 1175°F, density is 0.096 lbs/in3 and post anodizing color is white
- 1 Lb of wire per Spool - Available diameters: 0.030", 0.035" and 0.045" - Available Spool Quantities 1, 2, 4 and 6-Pack. Select your choice from the menu.
ER5356 - WIRE - MIG (GMAW) – ALUMINUM AWS A5.10 Welding Positions: All, except vertical down INTRODUCTION: This is one of the most commonly used aluminum welding alloy. It is a general purpose filler alloy for welding 5XXX series alloys with 5% magnesium for high strength, extremely resistant to corrosion and resistant to sea water. Suitable for subsequent anodization. USES: Materials: AlMg3, AlMg4,5, AlMg5, AlMgSi1, G-AlMg3, G-AlMg3.
