Former cop Phil Lodge (Patrick John Flueger) takes a new job as a superintendent in an expensive Manhattan hi-rise apartment building. When tenants begin disappearing with alarming frequency, Phil fears a sadistic murderer may be roaming the eerie corridors and that his daughters' lives are in danger. His prime suspect is the high-rise's bizarre maintenance man, Walter (Val Kilmer), who lives in the cavernous bowels of the building. Walter speaks of mystical spells that can help track down the cause of the disappearances, but Phil suspects that he may just be trying to throw him off the scent of the killer. But whom can he trust when everyone around him has something to hide, and the few people he does trust have been murdered?
