This is an amazing piece of Mexican folk art imported from Jalisco, Mexico. It is a traditional lion nagual (as first depicted by Candelario Medrano) with a colorful, spiked flowing mane. He was made by Candelario’s grandson, Juan Jose Medrano using the same ceramics process called “Barro betus”. Juan José has carried on his grandfather’s tradition while adding verve and personality of his own for many decades. This guy is extra large and heavy and of museum quality. He measures approximately 14” in height, 12” in length by 8” in width and is signed by Juan Jose. I estimate Priority Mail shipping in the U. S. to be $45.00 and will reimburse any overpayment of shipping. All auctions are unconditionally guaranteed and proceeds benefit our animal sanctuary in Northern Arizona, Little Orphan Animals.
