I wish antique objects like this could talk!  Did it live in Paris, in a luxe flat…or was it more of a chateau type.  In any case, it is an artifact of a time long gone.  It dates between 1850 - 1899.

The spoon was made using the champleve technique -

Champlevé is an enameling technique where a design is carved or etched into a metal surface, creating recessed areas that are then filled with powdered glass enamel, which is then fired to fuse with the metal, leaving the raised metal portions of the design visible as a frame around the enamel.

The spoon measures 6 1/2 “ long.  The spoon bowl is 1 3/16” in diameter.

I welcome all questions and requests for more photos.
