Jillian Stockman Nungurrayi is from Mt Wedge in the Central Desert and is part of the Anmatjera. She is the daughter of Billy Stockman Tjapalltjarri, an iconic Papunya artist and is considered one of the first representatives of Aboriginal art. She evokes in her works her representation of the dream associated with the Rainbow Serpent and the vegetation of the Australian bush with the traditional technique of pointillism. The large formats of her works open the work to infinity.

This particular piece is called Story Telling-Kangaroo Dreaming. Her father Billy Stockman was involved in the painting of the white roundels. The roundels represent camp sites. The U shapes represent the women with their digging sticks and coolamans. Here the women are passing down dreamtime stories to the young woman.
