Vintage Native American Sioux Buffalo Woman Hand Painted Slate Stone Wall Art Signed
Stunning hand painted wall art hanging of a Native American Sioux Tribe Woman entitled "Buffalo Woman" done on a natural slate stone slab.
This one-of-a-kind original art piece is beautifully hand painted on natural black slate in vivid colors and rich details. There is an attached leather cord for hanging.
On the back there is an attached hand written note in blue ink pen done by the artist about the legend of the Buffalo Woman that reads:
"The spiritual figure who gave the Sioux their true way of life. She taught the sacred songs and the meaning of the pipe. Then she sang again and as the people watched her going, suddenly it was a white buffalo galloping and snorting".
Signed (initials) and dated ('85) by the artist.
Measures approx. 10 1/2" H x 8 1/2" W.
