Oxalis palmifrons are a low-growing perennial with stunning foliage, which is quite unlike any other Oxalis. The slow-spreading patch of ground-hugging rosettes spreads up to 2 feet (60 cm) in 10 years. Each symmetrical rosette is composed of glaucous green, 3-dimensional, miniature palm-like leaves. This plant is a winter grower that does not emerge until late fall, when it is topped with stalks of light pink flowers held just above the foliage. It remains evergreen all winter, finally going dormant when the heat of summer arrives.
