"AUTUMN CAMPFIRE" BY RAY MANLEY. This picture was made near Patagonia on the Patagonia River in back of the Circle Z Ranch, about the middle of November. Exposure on 5x7 daylight Ektachrome was '/, sec. at f. 1I, or about five times that for normal daylight in the clear sunshine. The smoke, backlit by the sun, gave a little more illumination in areas that would have otherwise been dark. The cowboy hobbled his horse and cleared back the dried leaves and built a small fire for his beans for breakfast.
