Frilly Edible Chrysanthemum 

(Glebionis coronaria) is commonly known as tong hao in Chinese, shungiku in Japanese, ssukgat in Korean and cải cúc or tần ô in Vietnamese. The mildly bitter leaves of this annual are frequently used in Japanese recipes. The flowers, which grow to around 1.3m (4') tall, are various shades of yellow, and are also edible - outstanding additions to salads or any other food if used as a garnish.

Grow Frilly Edible Chrysanthemum Shungiku seeds as you would an ornamental flower, in rich, well-drained soil, and the sometimes bicoloured flowers will bloom from spring to fall. While most people may be familiar with Asian greens like bok choy- try your hand and something different.

Seed every three weeks from early spring (March) to September for a continuous harvest. With frost protection (a cloche or heavy row cover) starting in late October, some greens may continue to grow all through mild winters.

Most items are shipped without tracking to keep costs low. This is  the most economical option. Canada Post is incredibly reliable, but can be slow.

We will ship products anywhere in the world, however, please make sure you check with your country's customs office to be sure that they are allowed in. We will not be held responsible for orders held, confiscated and/or destroyed by customs. Please note this and make sure you understand before you buy it.
