Fenugreek belongs to the Fabaceae family and is commonly used as a spice. The other name of fenugreek is chimen. It originates from the Mediterranean region, but is also known in China, India and North Africa.
The seeds and green leaves of fenugreek have a strong aroma and are used both in cooking.
Fenugreek seeds can be cooked or sprouted and can even be eaten raw.
How to use Fenugreek whole seed:

For germination:
Internally:
An infusion of 3 teaspoons of crushed fenugreek seeds with 600 ml of boiling water. After straining, fenugreek tea is drunk 200 ml 3 times a day.
Externally:
A decoction of 1 tablespoon of crushed seeds and 250 ml of water, boil for 10 minutes until a slurry is obtained. It is spread on gauze (paw) and placed on the sore spot.
Contraindications:
Pregnant women are not advised to use fenugreek until the last weeks of pregnancy. Taking excessive amounts of fenugreek tea can cause stomach upsets and even allergic reactions.
