Fresh find from an Ohio Farm Estate is this
Antique Hand Blown Glass Decanter Set
What an amazing set and a even more amazing tale
We are told this set was given to the grandmother from the last 2 surviving
heirs of the Irvine-Newbold estate when she retired as a housekeeper and cook
in the mid 30s.
The set is reported to have been made in Baltimore Md and was a gift to the heir’s
great grandfather along with several bottles of Maryland Rye Whiskey. It set on
a sideboard in what was called the “viewing room” and served guests in the room
and porch area outside.
This 6 piece set wonderfully designed and made with slight imperfections in
what we feel is the late-mid 1800s. two smaller decanters are missing their
glass stoppers and some wear on the hand painted gold decorative designs on the
larger bottles
This set was treasured and used for special occasions for many more years
