Measuring approximately 11 by 14 inches, this original art sketch features the work of long-time Phantom artist Sy Barry. During the Golden Age, Barry worked at Timely and DC Comics, among other publishers, primarily as an inker- of note, he inked the first appearance of Krypto in Adventure Comics #210 - as well as the comic strips Flash Gordon and Tarzan. In 1961, he took over drawing The Phantom comics and illustrated the strip until his retirement in 1994. The sketch is in nm/mint and undisplayed condition and will be shipped with the utmost care. Please note- this is an actual, original piece of art drawn by hand by Barry. It is not a copy, print or pre-printed image. It is a one-of-a-kind original! It was personalized but Mr. Barry drew the palm tree in the upper left to hide it (if you hold it just right to a light source you can tell but it isn't easily seen .
