Up for sale is a Saint Louis Missouri MO 8 Mile House Good For One Drink Bar / Saloon Trade Token

In 1905 George Riegert had an advertisement for selling a pony at 8 Mile House on Olive Street Road. Before the automobile became popular, stage lines or roads would have rest or feed stops called "8 Mile House" or however many miles since the last one. George Riegert may have operated a bar or saloon on the site where this token would have been redeemed. He had a farm on the property also which was involved in a robbery in 1919. George Otto Riegert passed away April 24, 1920. This rare token was previously unlisted on the Token Catalog website. It is possible at the time of this token that 8 Mile House could be considered a different token location than Saint Louis. 

The token is made of aluminum and measures 26mm in diameter.
