Running from April 3, 1978 until February 10, 1985, The World’s Greatest Superheroes syndicated newspaper comic strip featured many of DC Comics’ major characters but mostly focused on Superman. There were 24 story arcs to the strip, each generally lasting three months. This printers proof sheet (see below for info on printers proofs) features a weeks worth of the strip (January 2, 1984), is part of the “Luthor and the Robots” story arc that featured Superman facing off against his oldens and most famous foe, Lex Luthor (which ran from October 31, 1983 through January 14, 1984). Best of all, it is signed by Paul Kupperberg, the writer, and Jose Delbo, the penciller. The proof measures 11 by 16 inches, is in good condition overall (displays well but, in addition to lite general wear, there is a slightly less than one-inch tear at the top portion of the fold - these came folded down the center - as well as a printers line that runs down the the left portion of the print, from the top of the piece through Kupperber's autograph down through the third panel in the first strip, barly making it through the second panel on the second strip, and going between the space that sepeartes the second and third panels in the third strip... it's only visible if you hold it just right to a light source), and will be shipped with the utmost care. A great collection of strips with excellent action between Superman and Luthor as well as Superman as Clark at the Daily Planet in the last two of the six strips. Story by Paul Kupperberg, pencils by Jose Delbo and inked by Sal Trapani. Please note- the signatures are real. They are the actual, hand-signed signatures of Kupperbrerg and Delbo. They are not pre-printed images on the proof.
Excepting pack-pulled autograph trading cards, CGC Signature Series, signed Sideshow prints, and like collectibles, all autographed items Vault Collectibles sells were personally witnessed, by myself, being signed by the writer, artist, or celebrity in question. No third party is involved. Further, art sketches - and most published original art I sell - were obtained directly from the artist themselves.
