Anton Peschel hat suburban vintage men's velour fedora in original Kleinhans box
Beautiful, soft velour wool felt hat with woven wool band and wood buttons
Well-finished interior with leather band, stamped "Anton Peschel, Dinkelsbühl (Bavaria), Made in Western Germany", and "Kleinhans Co., Buffalo, New York"
Kleinhans was a high end men's clothing store, in business from 1893-1992.
I do not know the exact era, but am guessing the 1950s because of the term "Western Germany"
Size is not marked, but inside measurement is 21-1/2 inches (55 cm), which, according to hat charts, translates to size "small - 6-7/8". The inside length and width are 7-1/2 x 6-3/8 inches. The brim is 1-5/8 inches wide.
Condition is excellent, lightly used, in original hat box, marked "The Kleinhans Co., Buffalo's Greatest Clothiers; If anything's wrong, we'll make it right." Box has some wear and tear on the sides and corners of the lid.
Ready to wear now, or use for theater costumes, reenactments, etc.
