Fresh find from a Texas Farm Estate is this
Unique Primitive Restaurant Saw Mill Diner Sign "One of a Kind
Unique"
I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it behind the cob webs
During the late 60’s a lumber mill employee's wife opened a “diner” just across the
street from the saw mill cashing in on the workforce at the mill. They kept
this open until the mill closed with the death of its owner in 1973 and
remained open until 1976 when they retired to the farm and sold the diner.
The sign came with them as the new owners renamed the diner and found a place
hanging in the farm work shop where it was forgotten for decades and decades.
We carefully cleaned the decades of dirt and grime leaving it in its current
patina leaving the choice of further cleaning to its new owner
Unique one of kind piece with great eye catching appeal
some darkening of wood and a minor amount of checking in the wood, the saw blade is
straight and true as the last day it was used
Heavy sign it comes with the chains that were used to hang it and are bolted
into the sign
Measures
43” long and 30 ½” tall
