Description
This is a lovely redwork embroidery piece - I believe it is a pillow "LayOver," but it would also be lovely as a tablecloth.
A pillow layover was like a pillow sham, but instead of inserting the Euro square pillow into an envelope-type sham, the layover was laid over the pillow top.
This would make a sweet tablecloth, or I can see it as the centerpiece of a quilt.
All cotton.
White, with red hand embroidery.
Machine sewn hems.
The design is particularly pretty - it reminds me of a laurel wreath.
The piece measures 32" x 30".
In excellent condition. Two tiny pinholes that do not detract (see detailed photos.) Otherwise, no stains, no tears, no worn spots, no damage. Really nice. It has been hand laundered and neatly pressed.
