About the item:

This postcard comes from DC's 75th Anniversary postcard set, The Vintage Art of DC Comics released in 2010.  Best of all, it is actually signed by hand by the comic creator stated, Irwin Hasen. Measuring approximately 4 by 5 1/2 inches, it is in nm/mint condition and will be shipped with the utmost care. Please note- the signature is real. It is the actual, hand-signed signature of the comic creator stated. It is not a pre-printed image on the postcard.

About the artist (from the VaultCollectibles biography): At All-American Comics (later bought by DC), Irwin Hasen (1918 – 2015) created Wildcat and also worked on All-Star Comics as well as characters like the Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Wonder Woman, Johnny Thunder, and Sargon the Sorceror. A member of the National Cartoonists Society, Hasen won awards for Best Story Strip in 1961 and 1962 for the comic strip Dondi, the story of a war orphan co-created with writer Gus Edson. Dondi appeared in 100 newspapers at the height of the strips popularity and Hasen drew the strip for its entire 31 year run (from 1955 until 1986). His comic strip work also includes The Goldbergs for the New York Post. Hasen’s comic book work from the 1940’s wasn’t limited to the company that would eventually become DC Comics. It includes work on many other Golden Age characters, including Secret Agent Z-2, Citizen Smith and the Green Hornet. He also worked for Centaur Publications, providing sports and celebrity one pagers. At MLJ Magazines he co-created The Fox. It is, however, for his work on the the worlds first Super Hero Team, the Justice Society of America, and on the beloved war orphan Dondi that Hasen is most remembered by fans.
