Lovely ivory colored Linsey-Woolsey, indicating that this antique hand embroidered ladies shawl is from the Civil War era.
The colors are beautiful and vibrant, violet and turquoise, with dark cranberry and kelly green. The photos really don't do it justice.
It is actually number 157/13. I don't know what it means. It is a table cover or a scarf I would say, due to the size.
It has provenance, that I can't prove- it belonged the the Mrs. Marvin Schwartz, of Cheyenne Wyoming, the mother of Beverly D'Anne, a famous ballerina. I have other items from the estate of her mother being listed today and some already on my store.
