RARE 3 Glass Set Antique HECKERT Wine Glass Roemers -Hand Blown Hand Painted Description:

FRITZ HECKERT antique wine glasses- These are hand blown glass with a spherical bowl that drops down about 2 3/4" into the stem. The hollow stem itself begins with the reeded edge and is repeatedly constricted during the blowing to make the bulges which end with a wide, hollow flare for a base.

Three "berry" prunts are applied at the base of the bowl, just above the reeds.

The glass is clear with a honey-gold luster and gilding. The painted decoration of purple, blue, and gold tulip shapes and grape & olive leaves. They are not opaque, but sheer and delicately iridescent. All of the painting has a raised gold edge, increasing the reflections from the glass surface.

The bowl's rim is gilded and encircled again with gold. Gilding encircles each bulge of the stem and along the edge of the base.

CONDITION:

These beautiful Roemers are in excellent condition. The paint and glass is free of any defects that I could find. The gold rim shows no wear.

It's rare (in our opinion ) to find a matched pair of c. 1885 Roemers in "near mint" condition, but THREE is even more so. See pics for better detail and measurements.
