What we do recommend is after assembly is complete, just spray around the bolts (and over any scratches) with a clear coat for added protection. Since when you put it together (tightening bolts) you scratch off some of the powder coated layer, opening up the metal to the elements, so a quick clear coat over those scratches will help significantly extend its lifespan, this is not required, but recommended.
