Castanea Crenata
<Features>
It is also an excellent wood and is treated as a precious wood.
It is a ring-pored wood with a solid grain, and when polished it becomes shiny,
hard and elastic, and does not warp easily.
Because it has an extremely long shelf life and is highly moisture resistant,
it has long been most used for the foundations of wooden houses and bathrooms.
Furthermore, it is still valued as the only construction material that can be used without using preservatives.
Because of this characteristic, it is said that if you keep a chestnut tree nearby,
you will be able to persevere without rotting.
In the world of Japanese sukiya, it is especially loved and used for its simple, gentle, and strong presence.

<Color tone>
The sapwood is narrow and brownish-gray. The heartwood is brown.
The wood contains a lot of tannin, and as it ages, it gradually becomes darker and changes from chestnut to blackish brown.
Annual rings are clear.

<Application>
In addition to being used as a building material, it is often used for decorative parts such as small items,
and as furniture material.

<Producing area>
Grows from southwestern Hokkaido to Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu.
It is also distributed in Korea and other areas.

<Converter suction method>
Remove the barrel and insert the converter straight into the section.
Turn the knob to the left, lower the internal piston,
and immerse the nib in ink up to the section.
While turning to the right, draw in ink by suction.
After suction is complete, wipe the nib clean before use.

<Cartridge installation method>
Remove the barrel of the fountain pen, point the nib upwards,
and insert the cartridge straight without twisting.
After installation, wait for the ink to reach the nib and perform a test write.
Note that ink cartridges are not included due to import regulations.
Please choose DAYACOM or European type cartridges accordingly.
