The vessel known as "Rusu" was a popular type of pottery in the 18th century and was often depicted in ukiyo-e prints.
One of the distinguishing features of "Rusu" is the three-dimensional patterns called harikamon.
This technique has been revived by the contemporary artist BONJIN.

All of the BONJIN brand products are handmade by a Seto-based third generation ceramic artist who is specialized in the technique used during the Edo period from the latter half of the 18th century to the middle of the 19th century in Seto City, Japan.
(The technique is often appears in UKIYO-E)
*Seto city has been one of the famous places for pottery production for over 1000 years.
‘SETOYAKI’, Japanese word for pottery comes from the city name.
