This book is about one trick - a mental effect with cards. It is not a new trick; in its rudimentary form , it dates back over a century. It relies upon a very simple mathematical principle. Yet as developed and practiced by modern professional performers, it is truly an unfathomable mystery. You don't have to be a professional, nor employ sleight of hand, to present it effectively. I came to the conclusion that the full potential  of the trick had not been realized. My purpose in writing  this little volume, therefore, was to explore in detail every aspect  of method and presentation, adding fresh ideas of my own and of several others.  The reader will learn what variations are possible  so that you can develop a presentation to fit your style of performing, personality and philosophy; and perhaps invent useful variations of your own.
