A fast-growing cherry tree produces delicious sweet fruits. Has dark and glossy ornamental leaves and produces single white flowers in May-June before setting fruit. Cherries are red and then turn black when fully ripe.

Prunus serotina grows to a maximum height of 60 ft tall. It provides fall colored leaves that typically turn yellow. It is a native to the United States and lives a long lifespan.

Germination Procedure: 

Plant in fall for overwintering and spring sprouts. Otherwise, apply 4 months of cold stratification to simulate the winter season. Pro-tip: Snip the end of the seed stones at the very end to create an opening for the emerging seedling. Doing so saves a lot of time that it would have taken for the stone to soften and crack on its own. Finally, sow seed stones 1/2-inch deep in med-warm temperatures.
