Scheibe Alsbach statue of Joachim Murat.
This porcelain figurine features Joachim Murat who was a French Army officer and statesman who served during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Under the French Empire he received the military titles of Marshal of the Empire and Admiral of France.
Highly detailed & beautifully painted in rich, vibrant colors with gilt details and modeled wearing uniform, he is standing on a square form base with gilt impressed name cornered by Imperial eagles.
The base underside features an incised biography with birthplace and dated military battles in French, incised numbers, Scheibe Alsbach mark.
Measures approx. 9.25" tall x 2¾" across base.
There is a tiny mark on one leg that surely occurred in the manufacturing process...it's shown in my last picture. Otherwise in excellent condition & just beautiful.
This figurine is a testament to the German precision and artistry for which Scheibe Alsbach porcelain is celebrated.
