This book of poetry, was written in the 1930's by Mississippian Kate McAlpin Crady, who was white. She used the dialect of uneducated White and African-American people of the Deep South to show the injustices of the time. Though the language and descriptions may be hard to read, the author was trying to show the pain that she witnessed during that time. This book provides a voice to the people of that time.
Newspaper records show that the author grew up on the Omega Plantation in the Mississippi Delta.
Book has some wear, but is in good, usable condition. No dust jacket.
