The HPE 686753-002 is an 8-bay SAS/SATA small form-factor (SFF) hot-plug hard drive cage designed for the HPE ProLiant ML310e Gen8 server. It allows you to install up to eight 2.5-inch SFF hard drives or solid-state drives (SSDs) into your server for increased storage capacity.
The drive cage mounts in the front center of the chassis (box 1) and as an option in the front bottom of the chassis (box 2). It does not include the backplane board, which is a separate component that connects the drives to the server's motherboard.
