Songs for Beginners is Graham Nash's solo debut apart from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. It is a collection of songs that reflect change, transition, and starting over. It is a true, mostly introspective songwriter's album full of beautifully performed and wonderfully recorded songs that reflect transition, movement, and the desire to look backward & forward simultaneously. This was one of four high-profile albums released by each partner of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in the wake of their chart-topping Deja Vu album of 1970. It peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, and the single Chicago made it to No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. Songs for Beginners has been certified a gold record by the RIAA.
