CHAU2155 This is a vintage 7" x 7" hand signed autograph for Dr Joachim Hammerling was a pioneering Danish-German biologist funded by Nazi Germany who determined that the nucleus of a cell controls the development of organisms. This was part of a collection from a medical student in the 1970s and 80s writing to historic doctors and surgeons discussing their research and gathering their autographs. The student has mounted a picture onto card which Hammerling has signed and returned and this is mint condition. It appears to have two other signings underneath so I have attached the storage sheet where it was housed for reference (the sheet from the album is separate and this is not included but for viewing and examination prior to purchasing - you are securing the signed autograph souvenir) It is in in absolute mint condition. Please see all my other scientist and surgeon autographs from this same collection.

In 1938 while working at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Biology, Hmmerling received a grant through a biology division within the Third Reich headed by Konrad Meyer to study exclusively the effect of the nucleus on development.
