Franciscan AUTUMN 6.5" Dessert Plates MCM Atomic Ranch Style
Original Franciscan Autumn 6.5" dessert or side plates from the mid century era. This classic design features autumn leaves swirling on an almond background with black pepper-like sprinkles. These gorgeous icons of atomic ranch living are from the estate of the original owner and have been kept in excellent condition.
The Autumn design was initiated under Gladding, McBean and Company's Franciscan dinnerware line in 1955. Pieces in this listing all carry maker's marks that were in use by G & B between 1953 and 1961 which dovetails with the family's lore that these were purchased early in the grandparent's marriage during the late 50's and early 60's in Minnesota.
We still have many other individual Autumn pieces available from the original twelve 6-piece place settings from this estate, including some never used and in their original packing. Many were used for special occasions only and others were the original owners' day-to-day table service for many years.
