Signed by hand by writer Mike Barr, this copy of Batman and the Outsiders #1 features a classic Jim Aparo cover from the 80's. In a sign of the times (as DC was soon to enter a period of genuine change in which it would revamp major characters and publish series' like Watchmen and the Dark Knight Returns - which themselves would change the industry forever), Batman actually quits the Justice League (to the clear shock of his fellow team mates). The issue also features the second appearance of the Outsiders (and the second appearance of team members Geoforce, Katana, and Halo). The comic is part of CGC's special Signature Series. With Signature Series books a certified CGC witness actually observes the signing of the comic so there is no possibility of the real autograph being switched out with another. Per the CGC census, only four copies of this classic issue grade 9.8. And, per GPA analysis, no 9.8 SS copies have come to market (and only one SS copy, a 9.0, ever came to market - a 9.0 in 2020).
