Kasli casting is folk craft and art products (sculptures, objects of decorative and applied art, architectural products) made of cast iron, produced at the plant of architectural and artistic casting in the city of Kasli, Chelyabinsk region, Russia.
The history of Kasli casting began in 1747, when the Tula merchant Yakov Korobkov bought 250,000 acres of land for 500 rubles and founded the Kasli iron-working and iron-smelting plant in the Southern Urals. The site was chosen rich in iron and unique high-quality foundry sand, as well as wood for coal production. When the plant was taken over by the Demidovs in 1751, Kasli iron products were already widely known in Europe and Asia.
