Plot

Jesse Stone, the former police chief of Paradise, Massachusetts, is suspended by the town council. He helps a friend, State Homicide Commander Healy, by investigating a series of murders in Boston. Jesse's investigation leads him to Gino Fish, a notorious mob boss.

Characters

Tom Selleck plays Jesse Stone, the main character and producer of the movie. Other cast members include William Devane, Kathy Baker, and Kohl Sudduth.

Setting

The movie is set in the fictional town of Paradise, Massachusetts and was filmed in Nova Scotia.

Themes

Jesse struggles with his depression and his relationship with women and alcohol. He also has a fear of abandonment, which his shrink, Dix, helps him recognize.

Robert Harmon directed the movie, and Tom Selleck and Michael Brandman wrote the screenplay.
