The Fugitive is a 1993 movie about a doctor who escapes from custody after being framed for his wife's murder:

Plot

Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) is a vascular surgeon who is wrongfully accused of murdering his wife, Helen. He is sentenced to death, but escapes from a prison bus crash while being transported to prison. Kimble then sets out to find the real killer and clear his name while being pursued by a team of U.S. Marshals led by Deputy Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones).

Critical and commercial success

The Fugitive was a critical and commercial success, spending six weeks as the #1 film in the United States. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and Tommy Lee Jones won for Best Supporting Actor.

Reception

Some say the movie is well-acted and directed, with constant action and tension. Others say the movie plays like real events, with acting, character, and dialogue that stand on their own.

The Fugitive is based on the popular 1960s TV series of the same name, which starred David Janssen as Dr. Richard Kimble.
