Plot
Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) is a vascular surgeon who is wrongfully accused of murdering his wife, Helen. He is sentenced to death, but escapes from a prison bus crash while being transported to prison. Kimble then sets out to find the real killer and clear his name while being pursued by a team of U.S. Marshals led by Deputy Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones).
Critical and commercial success
The Fugitive was a critical and commercial success, spending six weeks as the #1 film in the United States. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and Tommy Lee Jones won for Best Supporting Actor.
Reception
