Balsam Fir,  Abies balsamea

Native to southeastern Canada and Northern United States, the Balsam fir prefers temperatures between 32° to 77 °F  (0 to 24 °C) and is highly tolerant of wet soil. It grows in a mounded, or pyramidal, shape and, under ideal conditions,  the tree will grow about 12” a year; reaching 90 – 100’ over the course of its lifespan.
