About I Dream of Jeannie: 

Running from September 18, 1965 through May 26, 1970, I Dream of Jeannie starred Barbara Eden as a 2,000 year old genie and Larry Hagman as the astronaut who becomes her “master.”  Her famous bottle was originally a special Christmas 1964 Jim Beam decanter containing bourbon whisky.  Several versions of the bottle were used during the shows five seasons.  While not a ratings giant during its initial run, it nevertheless became hugely popular throughout decades of syndication.  In fact, when reruns debuted, the show became the first ever off-network series to beat network competition in the ratings. It has been airing somewhere in the world ever since and remains one of the most popular fantasy sitcoms in Television history.
