Whole plate Opalotype in 6 x 9 inch case made of wood covered with tooled leather in addition to a heavy & rigid thick brass mat; circa 1860. Period Austrian coat of arms opposite portrait of beautiful young lady. This particular portrait is hand-painted on what is commonly refered to as milk glass and unsigned. Subject is unidentified?
Condition report: Repaired spine support using NOS period leather. 7' inch repaired crack on top of leather case. Lower left Corner edge damage on case. Portrait a conservative eight out of 10. Original Glass cleaned with distilled water and lighly hand buffed.
Note: Overall quite impressive early Opalotype and came out of a decades old collection.
