Thanks to elaborate facilities much admired by the trade. it had the capability to shoot just about any-thing for just about anybody and its clients in-duded every type of manufacturer or retailer. It also took pictures for insurance companies (to show the scene of an accident), magazine, newspapers and advertising agencies. It was a photographer for the 1932 Olympic Games, held in Los Angeles, and the Air Races of 1933 and 1936, two aviation events held at the Los Angeles Airport. The studio maintained a high standard of technical performance. One way it felt unique was its ability to solve industrial problems through photography. Or, if a manufacturer wanted to show a product to its best advantage, the Whittington Studio could be counted on to find just the right setting, and just the right lighting and composition for that purpose. By always putting the customer first, it avoided taking pictures that were "arty." Instead, it simply tried to satisfy a customer's needs by illustrating precisely what it was the customer wanted illustrated. This kind of dedication brought contracts for many local—and some national—establishments, whose individual requirements were as varied as they were prolific. Photographs might be needed to record an event, to publicize the development of a product or to show what the company did. They appeared in every printed media and, in later years, on television. The Studio's business acumen, moreover, was as good as its job performance. In 57 years, It has never had a losing year.
