In season five of Little House on the Prairie, the Ingalls family move from Walnut Grove to Winoka to be closer to Mary's school for the blind. The season includes many heartwarming moments, including: 

• Albert wins Charles' heart: Charles develops an attachment to orphan Albert, even though Laura catches him stealing from the hotel. 

• Mary overcomes self-doubt: Mary conquers her doubts about becoming a wife and mother. 

• Laura and Albert help a friend realize his dream: Laura and Albert help a dying friend fulfill his dream of seeing the ocean. 

• The townspeople return to Walnut Grove: The townspeople return to and restore Walnut Grove. 

• Charles and Caroline discuss returning to Walnut Grove: Charles and Caroline become unhappy with life in Winoka and consider returning to Walnut Grove.

• Mr. Standish buys the building that housed the Blind School and wants to turn it into a hotel. 

• The church votes to clean up and prepare a big house left to Charles to take over as the new Blind School. 

• The Winoka school joins with another school run by Mrs. Hester Sue Terhune. 

• Harriet joins the blind school on their journey back to Walnut Grove. 

• Charles stays with a family while looking for horses to buy. 

• Charles and Jonathan meet with danger while sent to get medical supplies to battle an outbreak of anthrax in Walnut Grove.
