Her zest for living plus a natural talent to enjoy and appreciate her countless friends permeates the book and provides the real background for this international biography. It is the story that covers 75 years of Catherine Lightner Crenshaw Raffalovich life. A native Virginian “born in a small town, with medium good looks, no future, very few opportunities” written around the people and events that fulfilled her rich life.

“Flying Horses” is an inspiration to all young people to realize that their beginnings do not necessarily mean stagnation, or the end of the line. She writes with malice towards none as, with warmth and sincerity, she recalls her participation and reactions to happenings that are now history.
