Description

A fine and unusual antique photograph showing a rather shy looking United States soldier having a tea ceremony. The Japanese Tea Ceremony represents harmony, respect, purity and tranquility which we must embrace in order to achieve the main purpose of the tea ceremony. This event is unique as every process from the Tea equipment preparation until the tea is drunk has a distinctive technique.

This image dates pre-World War 1 and was taken in Yokohama, Japan. It is housed in a fine folder with an onion skin dust cover.
