Description
One of the best Cabinet photographs I have ever owned in my many years of collecting. This image shows a Baby Doll party at the Gibson family estate in Adams County, Ohio in the late 19th century. Each little girl holds proudly holds their baby doll in which several are rare German and French bisque dolls including China head Civil War period dolls. No doubt some descended from their mother’s and grandmother’s days. A few of the girls hold several of their favorite dolls and no doubt tea and playtime followed closely thereafter. This is an image that symbolized a time of innocence in our children that has been virtually destroyed today. (A masterpiece by definition)
