General Tools Scratch Awl Tool with Hardwood Handle - Scribe, Layout Work, & Piercing Wood - Alloy Steel Blade

Product Description Our General Tools Scratch Awl Tool with Hardwood Handle is ideal for piercing soft materials, starting screw holes, scribing, and layout work. The ball handle awl establishes a starting point which reduces the chances of tools wandering. If you don't create a starting point for your instruments, they can wander across the surface of the wood, causing major damage. To scribe lines on your project, first, use a pencil to mark the location of where you're going to create the hole. Place a straightedge across the marks to create a groove and use your hand saw or chisel to cut. To make your holes, simply mark the location and push the puncher into the wood. Next, you'll want to position the bit into the hole and drill. The woodworking awl has an overall length of 6.5" with a 3.5" blade, making it easy to create a sharp point for jobs that require heavy marking. We're proud to provide merchants, artisans, and DIYers worldwide with a broad range of affordable, specific-purpose mechanical hand tools and precision measuring and inspection gear. From the Manufacturer This hardwood handle scratch awl fluted handle is contoured for comfortable grip. The alloy steel blade runs through the handle and is securely fastened to both the plated steel ferrule and the cap. The overall length is 6-1/2" with a 3-1/2" blade.

Features
  • WOODEN HANDLE AWL: Our craft piercing tool is rust-resistant and can be used for punching, screwing holes, scribing, and perforating wood. It features a sharp point and a contoured and fluted wooden handle used by carpenters and other artisans.
  • CRAFT AWL: This handy needle tool can help you create your next woodworking masterpiece. Drag the tip of the awl along the grain of the wood, creating a shallow groove, reducing the chances of the hand saw or chisel from wandering across the board.
  • AWL PUNCH: The hand-held tool features a steel blade through the grip and is fastened to a plated steel ferrule and cap. Awls with rounded points can mark the location of holes that will later be made more prominent with a hole punch.
  • MARKING AWL: It only takes a few seconds to use an awl scratch to make a starting point for a drill bit, which is much less time than it would take to sand out any damage. Our pocket awl can withstand heavy pressure and challenging workloads.
