Generally speaking, hoyas are vigorous vines that love heat and humidity. In a favorable environment, they are covered with a multitude of stared flowers , of very different colors depending on the species.
The Australis species in question here is ivory-white, pink in the heart. Very melliferous, it attracts bees, which ensure the fertilization of the flowers, followed by pods of about twenty centimeters long. When they are ripe, they open letting their seeds escape, which scatter with the wind, as very lightfull feathers...
Easy to grow in pots, they like a light mixture, rich in river sand. Place your pots behind a window that will receive light and sun (west exposure is perfect). Do not forget that it is a liana, and that it will therefore be necessary to ensure that it has enough to develop (mesh of props or wire). Water moderately, but regularly. From time to time, spray the foliage (not calcar water), this prevents dust from settling, and maintains a certain humidity of the environment.
(In summer, they can be safely put outside.)
Well cared for, hoyas can be stored for several years
IMPORTANT: Hoyas australis seeds have a particularly short lifespan (around one month).
