Original WW2, 2nd Marines, Serge Green Wool Service Uniform Long Overcoat
from identified USMC soldier, but does not have his name written or marked anywhere on the coat

Acquired from family estate sale and belonged to Private First Class J.S. Gabbert, an expert marksman and member of the legendary American Expeditionary Force 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines and recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation Medal and Purple Heart for his service in WW2.

This wonderful long and very heavy coat is the real deal, and belonged to United States Marine Corp. Private, First Class J.S. Gabbert, an expert rifleman of the 2nd Marines, 6th Regiment and includes his rank Chevrons on each shoulder, and his 2nd Marines insignia patch on the left shoulder. This coat appears in brand new condition! I'm guessing that he may have not worn it and it's very apparent that it well sealed and kept from exposure to the environment since Gabbert returned home from the war.
