• Condition: All the pieces are in excellent condition with only a few minor concerns. The finale of the larger teapot appears to have been repaired (very well done, we've had it on display for a long time and only now noticed it). The interiors and bottom of the samovar have signs of use, but no corrosion and nothing beyond expectations. The interior strainers are clean and in excellent condition. There is no plate loss on the exteriors of any piece and the patina is excellent. The only notable dent is a small (1/8") ding on the bottom hip of the sugar, which isn't easily visible without inspecting. There are no deep gouges or scratches on any peice however there are some minor marks\scratches from storage, display, polsihing or use as expected. The samovar valve works flawlessly, and the handles are firmly attached but do have a crack. The burner has the original cap chained to it, is a perfect fit and has plenty of wick.

The bottoms are marked "Rogers Smith & Co. New Haven Conn." and with pattern "1935", except the creamer. The mark was used circa 1862 to 1877 when most production was moved to Meriden, Conn. The creamer is marked "Rogers Smith & Co. West Meriden Conn." in the same bullseye style Hallmark. The pattern is sometimes found with Meriden Britannia Co's hallmark indicating the set likely dates to the 1860's while Meriden was in the process of aquiring Rogers, Smith and Co's assets and production.

It's an absolutely stunning pattern and in amazing condition for it's age. The samovar is an exceptionally rare piece to find.
