A vintage Amita Japanese necklace and matching bracelet dating from the 1960's, featuring beautiful gold and silver wire village scenes including houses, flowers, birds and butterfly inlaid work on a onyx black background. Both feature a sliding clasp closure.
Beautiful vintage Damascene bracelet. Consisting of 10 large segments decorated with Japanese motifs like butterflies, birds, temples, pagodas, bamboo etc. The bracelet is marked "K24" on one of the panels. The necklace consists of 31 individual segments of the same motiff and match the bracelet.
Damascening is the process of inlaying typically, gold and silver strings into an oxidized steel background to produce intricately beautiful scenes. The darkly oxidized steel is set in the bright 24k gold plated base, then carved and inlaid with silver and gold wire.
From clasp to clasp the length of the necklace is 56cm or 22in long.
