Second Grade mid-year reader, first edition with charcoal boards. Corners bumped, tips rubbed.  BOE stamps. Some pages creased. The book, in it's second format, is still in print.

The Alice and Jerry books were nearly as successful as the Dick and Jane books they competed against. Ginn no longer exists, Row was merged into Harper and Bros, and is now dissolved into the conglomerate HarperCollins. Peterson has evolved but the name is still at the top of the masthead.
