This ornament is a replica of the LIONEL tender (1862T), issued with the General Steam Locomotive in the late 1950s. The original General Steam Locomotive was famous for its involvement in the Civil War. In 1862 Union soldiers deep in Confederate territory captured the locomotive but before they could reach Union troops, the General was retaken by the Confederates. Price tag is still attached to the box. Size: 2 1/4"long

This Christmas tree ornament is in very good condition for being over 20 years old and the Lionel The Tender ornament has beautiful artwork, color and design. Very nice collectible and great addition to any Hallmark Christmas ornament collection. Box has some shelf wear.
